I was recently "let go" from an accompanying gig. I was playing piano for a musical downtown, and the director decided that my schedule was too busy, and I wouldn't be able to make it to enough rehearsals for their liking. I had told the director that I would not be able to make it to several of the rehearsals, because of my schedule before I took the job, and it wasn't a problem then, but I was still fired recently anyway.
Here's the funny part.
When I told my piano teacher about how I got fired, I told him I had good news. After he heard that I was essentially "fired" from one of my many jobs, and my schedule was thus made more free, he said "that is good news."
You know you're too busy when getting fired is good news.
